Teriya Fauja Magar, who became the first Nepali to win the Dance India Dance Little Master’s (DID Little Master) competition in June, was in Qatar on Eid al-Fitr. According to the producers, Teriya got 5 million votes from Nepal, 4 million from India and 112 million from all over the world to win the competition. In Nepal, a number of internet cafes had offered free internet access to people to allow them to vote for her. Community got a chance to catch up with the star about her life before and after the win. She said she remembers the long hours of dance practice, where she would have to wipe off the sweat from her forehead and keep at it. “I put my heart into it and now I believe that self-control can help you achieve any dream; it can take you to success.” She went through three auditions before she was able to compete in the show. In all, she competed with nearly 40,000 other contestants below the age of 14 to win the title, according to the producers of the show. Legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty said of her performance: “Nepal is a beautiful country, I love the nice people there and a queen from Nepal has come to participate here.”
