NC leader Sujata Koirala diagnosed with breast cancer Video

Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has been diagnosed with breast cancer during her recent visit to Malaysia.

Koirala was in Malaysia to take part in a convention when she was taken to a hospital after complaining of dizziness. She was then diagnosed with breast cancer following check up.

Family sources said Koirala has undergone an operation in Malaysia and is recuperating at home in Mandikhatar. Koirala will now fly to Singapore for chemotherapy.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and NC central member Koirala had urged party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to seek financial assistance for her cancer treatment. Deuba then urged PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal for help, sources said. Sources said that Koirala has sought Rs 10 million for her treatment.

Health Minister Gagan Thapa, however, said he had no information regarding providing assistance to Koirala. "May be it was channeled through PM Dahal or Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi but I have no idea about such assistance," said Minister Thapa.
